Railway infrastructure company, Pioneer Fabricators, has secured a Rs 25.5 crore contract from North Eastern Railways under the GKC–VKNR Doubling Project. The work involves construction of foot overbridges, platform shelters, and structural upgrades. This marks the company’s entry into the eastern region as part of Indian Railways’ station modernisation push.
The company said that the contract allows it to operate as a major contractor for the development and redevelopment of railway stations. “We are already working on key projects across North India, and this tender helps us expand our presence into the eastern part of the country,” said a company spokesperson.
The GKC–VKNR Doubling Project aims to increase capacity and improve passenger experience in the eastern corridor. Pioneer has been given a six-month deadline to complete a range of structural upgrades that are intended to boost both safety and operational performance.
Pioneer Fabricators has also redeveloped Modinagar station, the first such station to become operational in the Delhi Division. The company is also involved in ongoing redevelopment works at Shamli, Tilak Bridge, and Ghaziabad stations. It has also delivered platform structures at 17 metro stations in Mumbai.
